Today is a little bit of my own personal insight on not only life in SL but life in general. The following essay was written by me for my web site if I ever get one up and running. However if truly fits here just as well. It is entitled “Actions and Reactions” I hope you find it interesting.
Galileo Galillei and Sir Isaac Newton were destined to be drawn onto the same pathway in life. First off Sir Isaac Newton was born the same year that Galileo died, and both men, not only had profound impact on the societies
and the world in which they lived, but on ours as well.
During Newton’s life he not only discovered gravitation, invented calculus and formulated the “Laws of Motion” (that we will get back to in a moment). He also recognized that white light is made of colored lights, which changed the art world and influenced the thinking of another great mind Mr. Albert Einstein. Still not finished Sir Isaac Newton went on to write:
“The Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy (1687) and Opticks(1704).
Now back to the “Laws of Motion”and how they will apply to this writing.
FIRST LAWÂ Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it. |
SECOND LAWÂ (Is a little bit more complicated) The relationship between an object’s mass (m), its acceleration (a), and the applied force (F) is F=ma |
THIRD LAWÂ Is the where I am going and is the one most people are familiar with. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction |
These laws may be for physical objects, however they can also be applied to our everyday lives and emotions. When involved with the actions of others, they will always bring about reactions from ourselfs.
Although in the case of nations the lack of action sometimes brings about over-reactions
Hopefully; for most of us, there is that brief moment when we awake when all is right with the world, then reality sets in and we are off on our daily routine. We turn on the morning news, and start the coffee, there is a wreck on the freeway we are going to be late again the boss is going to be mad.
action and reaction
We awaken to the sounds of the young children cring for food knowing that there is none for them. Then off in the distance we hear the unmistakable sounds of the relief convoy pulling into camp.
Yes, the generosity of others means that the children will survive another day.
action and reaction
As we walk down our busy city streets. The action of giving a simply
“howdy do” to the people we meet, will always bring a better reaction than that of a “out of my way”
The feelings and reaction brought on by having a stranger slam a door in our face as compared to those when a strange holds that door open for us.
Yes; Yes, I know these are the things that we teach our children, and things we learned as children. However, somewhere alone the aging process we seem to have put common morality aside and replaced it with a double standard and a me first attitude. This action alone brings about many of the reactions that plague us today.
As I take my morning walks, when I see change laying on the ground, like most people I stop and pick it up. However unlike most people when I see nails, screws, or other objects that could cause damage to tires these I also stop and pick up. I know it is just a small thing.
Although that flat tire you did not have on the way to work this morning, just may have been because of me; you are welcome.
You reap what you sow
What goes around comes around
Reciprocating Rotation
The good you do today comes back 3 fold tomorrow
The bad you do today comes back 12 fold tomorrow
Emotions; as we all know, are not solid objects so Sir Newton’s
“Laws of Motion” really does not come into play here.
However, what we can say envoling emotion’s is that;
Every reaction will be directly equal to or greater than the action applied!
So the question is:
What reactions do your actions bring?
/me would love to know who the author of this blog entry is!
Thanks for adding your name, Jims!
